And since 3D glasses do not work between different manufacturers’ sets, people cannot simply bring their own. The Kindle 3 is About to Be Replaced by the Kindle 4

It’s starting to look as if Amazon are getting ready to phase out the Kindle 3 and release the Kindle 4. Some business analysts are predicting a Kindle 4 release within as short a time span as four weeks.

This expectation is based upon the fact that Amazon has slashed the price of refurbished Kindle 3 readers.
