The Couple from Our Monaco Trip

Seeing as we had met during a pub showing of the Monaco Grand Prix last year, my partner and I felt it appropriate that we spent our first anniversary watching the grand prix in the flesh. We booked the most gorgeous hotel with a spa, so that after the races, we could relax as a couple. After we arrived, we bumped into a couple that had spoken to us the instant we boarded. We thought the endless chatter from them would be over once we got off the plane in France (since there is no airport in Monaco) and couldn’t believe our bad luck when there they were standing in the lobby of the same hotel, just in front of us in the queue to check in. It looked like we would be spending more time with these people than we hoped. We just kept our fingers crossed that the noise of the cars might drown out the sound of their voice.
